LITIGATION PARALEGAL OPENING

Wharton Aldhizer & Weaver PLC is a full service law firm with lawyers servicing clients in Virginia and other Mid-Atlantic States.  We offer our clients a strong regional presence, with offices in Harrisonburg and Staunton.

WAW is seeking a full-time litigation paralegal to perform sophisticated legal work primarily in our Harrisonburg office.  The position will have a heavy emphasis on medical malpractice, trucking accident and car crash cases.  Responsibilities include: medical research, medical records review and summarization, conducting pre-claim investigation and case assessments; drafting legal documents such as pleadings and discovery; requesting, reviewing and organizing client documents; compiling and organizing case evidence and supporting information; liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties; assistance with jury selection and witnesses preparation; and managing case files, calendars, and research.

Candidates should have excellent organizational skills, the ability to work independently within a team-oriented structure, strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to efficiently work with Microsoft Office products; and the ability to learn how to use client and document management software.  Prior experience as a litigation paralegal and written/spoken bilingual skills would be a plus.
