  • Represented a Church in a lawsuit by a disaffected faction and assisted in obtaining dismissal of the action based upon First Amendment principles
  • Obtained settlements totaling over seven figures for a trust beneficiary and minority shareholder arising out of the operation of family-owned properties and enterprises
  • Successfully resolved claims against a German manufacturer who wrongfully terminated its contract with a domestic distributor of automobile parts
  • Obtained dismissal of a multi-million dollar lender liability action brought in North Carolina
  • Successfully represented a corporate borrower in obtaining an upper six-figure recovery against a lender

Marshall Brings Big City Experience At The Local Level.

Marshall came to Wharton Aldhizer and Weaver after serving several years as co-head of the litigation section at Poyner & Spruill LLP in Charlotte, NC. During his tenure there, he gained the experience and skills necessary to handle a diversity of cases both in and out of court. He values working with clients who choose collaborative divorce because he feels he can truly help individuals and families during challenging times. Marshall is an avid outdoorsman, has climbed in the Himalayas, and enjoys hiking, gardening and travel. Marshall is admitted to practice law in state and federal courts in Virginia and North Carolina proceedings.
