Wharton Aldhizer & Weaver PLC is seeking experienced and highly motivated Commercial Associates to join our practice. The ideal candidates will possess two to five years of commercial experience, preferably in one or more of the following disciplines: commercial finance; securities; commercial transactions; taxation and tax planning; estates, wills and trusts; business and succession planning; commercial real estate transactions or business litigation. We are seeking skills in tax research, preparation of documents and working with a team on transactional matters.
We are also seeking experienced and highly motivated Litigation Associates to join our practice. The ideal candidates will possess two to five years of litigation experience, preferably in one or more of the following disciplines: medical malpractice; products liability; business and civil litigation; professional liability; environmental or employment law defense. These associates will assist in all aspects of trial and case development, including the drafting of pleadings, producing pre-trial discovery, engaging in witness development and preparation, performing legal research, drafting briefs, engaging in motions practice, and participating in trials. Successful candidates can expect significant courtroom experience and client contact.
We are seeking self-motivated, intelligent, entrepreneurial and team-oriented individuals who will deliver the best legal results for our clients. Qualified candidates must possess a JD from an accredited Law School and be admitted to practice in Virginia or another mid-Atlantic state. Candidates must possess excellent written and oral communication skills and have demonstrated legal writing, researching and analytical skills. Candidates must also be willing to live in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.
