HARRISONBURG, VA — The firm is excited to welcome back Seth J. Kott, a former summer associate and the newest member of WAW’s Commercial, Corporate & Business Law practice group. Seth joins us this fall after graduating from Washington and Lee University School of Law. His steady approach and dedication to client service make him an excellent addition to our team.
Seth’s Academic Excellence Provides A Strong Foundation For His Legal Career
Seth’s academic achievements reflect his strong commitment to the legal profession. He graduated summa cum laude from George Mason University in 2020 with a B.A. in Government and International Politics. He then went on to earn his law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 2025. In law school, Seth was an active member of the Federalist Society and a quarterfinalist in the Robert J. Grey Jr. Negotiations Competition. His prestigious education equips him to approach the complex legal issues our clients face.
Practical Training Translates Into Real-World Client Support
In addition to his studies, Seth gained hands-on legal experience through internships and externships. As an intern with Ashwell & Ashwell, he assisted with criminal defense and civil litigation cases, prepared research memos for a former Virginia judge, and managed case files and filings in Northern Virginia courts. He later externed for Lynchburg Circuit Court Judge J. Frederick Watson, where he learned the nuances of judicial decision-making.

Seth Is Ready to Help Clients From Day One
Seth spent the summer of 2024 as a WAW summer associate, getting firsthand experience with our firm’s processes, culture, and clients. Now returning full-time, he’s ready to hit the ground running, putting that experience to work alongside WAW’s partners and associates.
When he’s not practicing law, Seth loves spending time with his family, cooking, staying active, exploring the outdoors, traveling, and reading. He and his wife have a daughter and are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their second child later this year.
