We are pleased to announce the hiring of our newest Harrisonburg lawyers to our team – Emily Gindhart and Andrew Fox. Emily is a 2021 graduate of the University of Richmond School of Law, where she gained a first-rate education and practical experience that will serve our clients well. Andrew graduated from Washington & Lee University School of Law in 2021 after studying and interning with some of Virginia’s finest legal scholars and professionals. Emily and Andrew will be working closely with our partners to help grow and support specific practice areas, like commercial law, bankruptcy and creditors rights, employment law and civil litigation.

Educational Recognition Distinguishes Emily From Her Peers.

Emily studied Psychology and Political Science at the University of Virginia, graduating with Distinction in 2018. She then joined the 2021 class at the University of Richmond School of Law, achieving entrance into the Phi Delta Phi Honor Society and McNeil Honor Society for maintaining a grade point average in the top 10% of her class. She was a Senior Staff Member on the University of Richmond Law Review and graduated with top honors, receiving the distinction of Order of the Coif. Emily brings a solid work ethic and a strong intellect to the team at Wharton Aldhizer & Weaver.

Practical Experience Supplements A Strong Educational Record.

While in law school, Emily completed several externships with organizations serving diverse clients and needs. She worked as a Clinical Placement Extern for the Hackney Community Law Centre in London, United Kingdom, and the Supreme Court of Virginia. While externing at the Supreme Court, Emily prepared bench briefs and drafted memoranda for the Honorable Justice Cleo Powell. In 2020, she was a law clerk for Legal Services of Northern Virginia, a nonprofit organization opening the doors to justice for disadvantaged individuals and communities.

Emily Is Passionate About Helping Clients Protect and Grow Their Businesses.

Emily is excited to get to work helping businesses protect themselves legally. She’s thrilled to work with a firm specializing in different practice areas with plenty of mentors to help her grow and learn. Andrew Fox

A Top-Notch Education From A Virginia Institution.

Andrew Fox studied at Washington & Lee University School of Law for his undergraduate and law degrees. He studied English as an undergraduate and was active in the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, serving as Treasurer during his final years. In 2014, he was a nominee for the Wornom Award for Distinguished Critical Writing and worked as a talk show host for the local university radio station, WLUR. Andrew brings a personable approach to his legal career, connecting naturally with diverse clients in different practice areas.

Internships & Job Experience Supplement Andrew’s Education.

During law school, Andrew worked as an intern for two law firms. He served as a Research Associate helping clients navigate the legalities of telehealth early in the COVID-19 pandemic and spent a summer working in California for the law firm representing plaintiffs in the Takata Airbag Recall case. In the summer after his first year of law school, he worked as an intern in the Compliance Department for a large asset management firm in Chicago. These experiences helped him apply his education to a professional legal practice serving diverse clients.
