Hodge and Yoder Named 2017 “Lawyers of the Year”

Best Lawyers, the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession, has named Glenn M. Hodge as the “Charlottesville Best Lawyers Real Estate Law Lawyer of the Year” and P. Marshall Yoder as the “Charlottesville Best Lawyers Collaborative Law:  Family Law Lawyer of the Year” for 2017.  Only a single lawyer from each practice is so honored.  Harrisonburg and surrounding areas outside of the City of Charlottesville are included in the “Charlottesville metropolitan area.”

A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Mr. Hodge served in the Navy from 1960 to 1968 before earning his law degree from the University of Virginia.  He joined Wharton Aldhizer & Weaver PLC in 1971.  He has spent his law career as a skilled advocate in the areas of real estate and commercial transactions, including collective bargaining, arbitration, and National Labor Relations Board proceedings, health care law and employment law.

Mr. Yoder was a pioneer in the use of collaborative practice in the Shenandoah Valley and Virginia, an approach to resolving disputes in which the parties explicitly agree that their attorneys should assist them in resolving their disputes outside of the court system. He uses the model extensively in his family law practice where he assists clients in focusing their efforts on a restructured family that supports the needs of the children. He is also a mediator and frequent trainer in the areas of negotiations, collaborative practice, and in the design of conflict resolution programs.

Wharton Aldhizer & Weaver PLC is a full-service law firm with offices in Harrisonburg and Staunton.
