Donald “Don” Showalter is an experienced business law attorney who brings smart solutions to solve his clients’ legal needs. Don joined Wharton Aldhizer & Weaver in 1965 after attending the University of Virginia Law School. His mentors, Mr. Aldhizer and Mr. Wharton, encouraged him to diversify his practice to grow his legal skills with business, family, and criminal defense law. After working several high-profile criminal and civil cases, he chose to focus his practice on business law handling the vast majority of the cooperatives in the Shenandoah Valley. In 1972 he was asked to take part in the United States Supreme Court Case, Wisconsin vs. Yoder, representing the Mennonite Church. His friend-of-the-court brief helped the Mennonite Church win the right to educate their children in their schools which was a significant milestone in protecting religious freedoms.
