P. Marshall Yoder, an attorney with Wharton Aldhizer & Weaver PLC, has been elected president of the Virginia Collaborative Professionals by his peers.
The Virginia Collaborative Professionals is a non-profit association of attorneys, mental health, and financial professionals focused on using collaborative practice to resolve family and civil matters without the use of litigation. Collaborative practice requires that the parties commit to resolving their differences outside of court.
During Yoder’s term, the organization will focus on continuing to educate the public about collaborative practice, creating leadership opportunities for collaborative practitioners within their professional organizations and expanding collaborative practice beyond family law matters.
At Wharton Aldhizer & Weaver PLC, Yoder’s focus is collaborative practice and alternative dispute resolution. In addition, he practices in the areas of commercial law, non-profit and charitable organizations and in estate planning and administration.
Yoder received his bachelors degree from the University of North Carolina and his J.D. with honors from Campbell University. He has been named one of Virginia’s Legal Elite by Virginia Business magazine for the past seven years and also was recently selected to the Best Lawyers in America in the area of Collaborative Law.
Collaborative Practice offers individuals going through separation the support, protection and guidance of their own lawyers without going to court. Additionally, Collaborative Practice allows for beneficial teams of child and financial specialists, divorce coaches and other professionals to help families create lasting arrangements without going to court.
