Welcome Andy Blanco, Our Newest Harrisonburg Lawyer
We’re excited to introduce Dioscoro Andres “Andy” Blanco as the latest addition to the Wharton Aldhizer & Weaver (WAW) team in Harrisonburg. Andy is an accomplished attorney with a proven record in commercial litigation and a passion for delivering results-driven legal solutions. His diverse experience and educational background make him a valuable asset to the clients WAW serves.
Andy Brings A Depth & Breadth of Legal Experience to Our Team
Andy started his legal career in 2018, and since then, he has built an impressive portfolio of litigation experience. He has dedicated much of his career to commercial litigation and administrative law, working on complex cases for oil and gas companies, landowners, and government bodies across Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas. From navigating intricate environmental disputes to handling employment law challenges, Andy has demonstrated his ability to manage high-stakes cases, which will prove invaluable for WAW clients.
Your New Harrisonburg Lawyer for Workplace Safety & OSHA Compliance
Joining the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) team, Andy is committed to helping businesses operate safely and responsibly. As an associate attorney, he offers guidance on OSHA compliance, represents clients during inspections and defends against citations. Andy’s approach goes beyond standard legal steps—he focuses on each client’s end goals and explores practical (and sometimes unconventional) solutions to achieve them.
Andy’s Education Fueled His Research-Driven Legal Approach
Andy earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Washington and Lee University School of Law, where he was inducted into the prestigious Order of the Coif. During law school, he served as the lead online editor for the Washington and Lee Law Review and a student caseworker at the Black Lung Clinic. At the Clinic, he represented coal miners and their widows seeking federal black lung benefits, gaining hands-on experience in client interviews, legal research, discovery and federal court.
This practical training, combined with his undergraduate degree in liberal arts from St. John’s College, honed Andy’s research, problem-solving, and lifelong learning skills—essential tools for tackling the complex legal issues he faces daily on WAW’s team.
